Winter 2021-2022: Week of January 24

Winter is the ideal time for continuing education. This week we did a webinar on plant growth regulators with a focus on bentgrass greens. In addition we use the winter time to meet our pesticide and GCSAA recertification requirements.

The final step of the tree work on 18 was pruning. The work was completed this week. In addition, the canopy of the tree overhanging the tenth fairway was raised.

Irrigation tech Marcelo Barrios is taking a break from digging holes and is giving our irrigation pump house a deep clean and fresh coat of paint.
In Progress:
We have continued to clean out and organize our shop area before the start of the coming season. The outdoor storage yard had become overfilled with various pieces of equipment and supplies. We have been recycling unneeded items and reorganizing this area.
After:
As part of the long range plan, the large dead oak at the intersection of the cart part on 4 and the shop road has been removed. Pieces of this tree have repeatedly fallen onto the shop road and cart path.

Golf Course Maintenance is preparing for the approaching storm and a long duration of snow removal activities.
