Within a few days of the snow and ice melting off the course we received another round of snow and below average temperatures. The snow has once again limited our access to the course. However, we expect that the course will once again be melted out by the end of next week. Once we are able to safely move equipment around the course we will be renting a chipper for the piles of brush that we have staged across the course. The brush will be chipped into manageable piles and hauled away for disposal. This will be phase 1 of spring cleanup. Once chipping is completed regular spring cleanup will begin in preparation for the quickly approaching golf season. Stump grinding is also scheduled for March and will be completed as soon as conditions allow.
We have also been finishing some administrative and office work before the need to be on the course takes precedence. Next week is the New England Regional Turfgrass Foundation Show in Rhode Island. While there we will be attending education seminars that provide recertification credits for our pesticide licenses and GCSAA certifications. We're currently in the staffing process and will be bringing seasonal staff back as soon as conditions allow. The Ipswich Country Club greens crew is excited to start course preparations for the 2022 season.
