Irrigation:

A lot of irrigation work has been completed since we pressured up the system on March 31st. Saddles and repairs were made in-house and also contracted out. Clubcorp has been providing resources since my start of employment in March of 2019 to address the saddle issue. As of today, we have a fully functioning irrigation system with the only thing left to do is audit the fairway and rough heads.
Pre - Emergent Herbicide:

We have begun our pre-emergent applications to the golf course. We spread and spray a variety of products on the golf course in the spring mostly to control crabgrass and goose grass. This is our most time consuming application of the season. Every square foot of turf will have something applied to it even the naturalized areas.

Applications:
We are also very busy with applications other then pre emergent applications. Spring is the time where we start our growth regulation programs, fertility programs, wetting agent programs, fungicide programs, and insect control programs. A lot of what we do now is crucial for playing conditions come summer and fall. Despite battling constant windy conditions we are still currently on schedule with our spray program.

Aeration Healing:
The aeration holes are just about closed up. Turf growth through the topdressing sand has been a little slow. Monday morning 4/18 we were greeted with 29 degrees to start the day and a morning low of 31 on 4/21 with a scattering of frost. These nighttime temperatures are not helping, but things look to moderate next week. A foliar fertility spray was applied on 4/22 and some more fertility is scheduled for this coming week. I suspect with a little help from mother nature greens will be in pretty good playing condition for the opening tournament on Saturday 4/30.
