A flagstick in this position was a common sight this week with all the wind

Approaches:

All the work to approaches the past two years is starting to pay off. Slowly transitioning to more bentgrass through overseeding and use of plant growth regulators. Our aeration and topdressing programs are firming and smoothing these surfaces as well.

Bryan McWhorter mowing approaches his favorite task!

When the wind wasn't blowing we were busy making applications

Clubcorp provided the maintenance team with some new toys this week. These two blowers will be a welcome addition to our equipment fleet. These blowers are far more powerful then our older blowers and will be used for a variety of tasks, but will really shine with spring and fall cleanup. Fall cleanup at Ipswich is no easy task with the sheer numbers of trees we have. These blowers in combination with the leaf vacuum that Clubcorp purchased in the winter of 2021 will make providing a cleaner golf course this fall an easier task.

Above picture shows assistant Kevin Bird's cart with pieces of greens liner he cut this week. This is his third round of liner cutting this season! We will still have some more pieces that make there way to the surface over the course of the season.

As time permits over the next 14 days we will be adding sand to the back nine greenside bunkers. Front nine was completed earlier this year.
