New Tee Mower

Monday, December 8th we received a new Toro Triflex 3300 to serve as an additional tee mower. This was a $44,000 investment by Invited. This investment will help us maintain our tees more efficiently. It currently takes 3 team members a total of 15 labor hours to mow, blow, and set tees for the day.

Also, this investment will allow us to reposition two of our older mowers to topdressing mowers for greens. Topdressing sand quickly dulls mower blades and negatively impacts quality of cut. It also adds labor and maintenance cost as the cutting units constantly need to be resharpened and bedknifes replaced. The agronomy team will now be able to handle post sand topdressing more efficiently and help the team increase our topdressing program.

Sand topdressing is a very important tool in organic matter management. Other benefits include a smoother putting surface, reduced ball marks, and improves firmness and water infiltration. The addition of the tee mower will certainly make tee mowing more efficient, but will also help in our greens management program.
